Aven

Life span: 14 years
Strengths: Heightened strength and senses at night
Disadvantages: Weakened during the day
Magic Level: High

Reproduction: Normal, but has a high birthrate of females. High fertility rate.
Colors: White
Specific Characteristics: While their base coat is always white, some posses colored markings, typically in purple, blue, green or gold. All have a glowing coat at night. Marked Aven wolves have one or more of the following mutations: wings, antlers, more than 1 tail, bobbed tail

Little is known about these creatures who are tied to the moon. Typically female, they tend to be followers of the Goddess Danu and the ways of the night. While they tend to run towards the neutral alignments, many are lawful good and have trained to be warriors since their birth. Aven wolves are considered the purest and cleanest race of Anima and Kindra as they do not appear to have any relation to other species. Sometimes recluse, Aven make excellent hunters and often know how to be stealthy despite their larger size.

Fortis

Life span: 15 years
Strengths: Physically stronger due to stronger bones
Disadvantages: No immunity to magical or psychic abilities
Magic Level: Low
Height range: 4' - 6'
Weight range: 120 lbs. - 250 lbs.
Litter Size: 3 - 5 puppies
Reproduction: Loyal to their mates, but they will move on if their mate dies. Devoted parents.
Colors: Any color, but blues, golds and reds are the most common.
Specific Characteristics: Wear jewelry, dense bone structure

Fortis are a very common breed, able to be any color in the rainbow. It's not unheard of for multiple colors to be born within one litter. When Fortis chooses a mate, they will be loyal to them. They are not inclined to mourn the death of their mates, as it is viewed as 'a part of life'. Any found object can be worn as jewelry, but they are inclined to make the jewelry they wear. They have impressive metallurgy skills and are often sought out if jewelry needs to be made. They are notoriously hard to kill because of their denser bone structure and many are able to survive steep falls with little to no injury.

Jelen

Life span: 11 years
Strengths: Strength, Size
Disadvantages: Slow, large personality flaws

Colors: Black, orange, red, white or gray
Specific Characteristics: Markings match eye color, strong but not very fast, horns or antlers

Odd creatures by nature, Jelen tend to be solitary creatures. Though it is not unheard for them to include themselves in a pack if it suits their needs. Self-centered and resourceful, a Jelen is a good wolf to have on your side. However this help is only offered if you have something to offer them at the end of the day. Often mercenaries, most have no problem killing, stealing or any other unscrupulous deed if the price is right. While they don't always make friends easily, those who find themselves on the inner circle of a Jelen should be honored, as that wolf would lay down its life for the one it calls its friend.

Lomari

Life span: 11 - 15 years
Strengths: Athletic, clever
Disadvantages: Find it difficult to slow down, gullible
Magic Level: Normal
Height range: 4'5" to 5'6"
Weight range: 90lbs. to 150lbs.
Litter Size: 4 to 5 pups
Reproduction Notes: Tend to be monogamous. Males will give their mates jewellery to prove their devotion.
Colors: Can be any color, but lighter colours are the most common. Pastel colours are considered the most desirable.
Specific Characteristics: Multiple tails (typically 2-5; above 6 is unheard of)

Highly social creatures by nature, the Lomari will always gravitate towards joining a pack rather than travel alone. The Lomari are an open-minded species, generally speaking, and often accept the various beliefs of other wolves. The number of tails a Lomari has is generally determined by their parentage, however it is rare that a Lomari has fewer than two tails. They believe that the more tails they have, the more good fortune they will have in their lives. The Lomari often decorate their tails with ribbons, jewellery and other found objects.

Macka

Life span: 9 years
Strengths: Naturally intuitive and highly observant
Disadvantages: Small size, Small Man syndrome

Weight range: 75 lbs. - 105 lbs.
Litter Size: 3 - 5 puppies
Reproduction Notes: Birthrates have a higher percentage of males than females.
Colors: Black, white, tan, gray, blue or red
Specific Characteristics: Small Paws, long and soft coat

Unity, interpersonal connections and faith. These three things are something the Macka will always hold dear and will strive to follow. Often shaggy in appearance, most of the species do not bother with grooming. Because of this tendency, a well-groomed Macka is a head turner. Due to their natural smaller stature, they often have what is to be considered "small man syndrome" and often go out of their way to prove themselves to larger individuals. Having a knack to notice things that others do not, they are naturally intuitive and often make excellent spies and assassins. Because they are smaller in size, they don’t often do well in physical combat. While they don’t typically have the upper hand in physical prowess, they make up for in technique and mental acuity.

Masa

Life span: 17 years
Strengths: Flexibility, excellent hearing, sharp claws, in tune with nature and other creatures.
Disadvantages: Physically weak, typically have poor eyesight.

Weight range: 100lbs - 180lbs
Litter Size: 1 - 4 puppies
Reproduction: They bond for life.
Colors: Only muted earth tones (brown, tan, green, whites, etc.)
Specific Characteristics: Dense fur, multiple joints in paws, floppy ears, bushy tail.

Description: The masas are a gentle, loving people. They are kind, a spot of shining light in the impending darkness. These creatures are often plagued with poor eyesight, ranging anywhere from a slight fogginess to complete blindness. Direct sunlight is difficult for them, but not impossible. They are often in-sync with nature and other creatures, giving them an advantage when hunting and also from natural disasters. Having a masa around is vital for any pack, as these creatures are problem solvers. With extra joints in their paws, these creatures are able to do things with their paws that other species can't, and they often work alongside fortis with crafting. Their claws are naturally sharper and longer than others, giving one small advantage to these peaceful creatures. But ah, because of their peace-loving ways, these creatures are usually weaker than others, although they do try to avoid skirmishes whenever they can. Physically, these creatures have dense almost curly fur with floppy ears and a large, bushy tail. Aging slowly, these creatures do not reach adulthood until 3 years of age.

Pard

Life span: 13 years
Strengths: Nimble, Quick
Disadvantages: Lack bulk for defense

Height range: 3'11" - 5'6"
Weight range: 85 lbs. – 125 lbs.

Reproduction: Always born in even numbered sets.
Colors: Any, though big cat pattered coats are common
Specific Characteristics: Retractable claws, big ears, thin body

Quick and nimble on their feet, Pard wolves are fast and often very hard to catch. While running, they leave their claws extended to get better traction particularly on flat, open ground. They enjoy racing with other wolves, particularly with others of their species. Generally social beings and the life of a party, they get along well with others and often find themselves climbing the ranks quickly. Priding themselves on their often-short coats, they keep meticulously clean, not large fans of water or dirt.

Riba

Life span: 12 years
Strengths: Poison bite, naturally cunning
Disadvantages: Instigator. If poison bite is used, several teeth fall out.

Weight range: 105 lbs. - 150 lbs.
Litter Size: 1 - 6 puppies
Reproduction Notes: Most Riba feel comfortable giving birth in or close to water. It is not uncommon for Riba pups to be water born. It is said that pups of this breed know how to swim from birth and swim out of instinct to the shore and their mother’s side.
Colors: Blue, purple, green, teal or yellow
Specific Characteristics: Strong swimmers, webbed toes, double tail, bite is poisonous (slows heart rate and movement)

Often aggressive and cunning, Riba wolves are often instigators and thieves. Hidden within their jaws is a deadly weapon: venom. This venom is very powerful, causing great harm to their opponent, but coming at a great price to the wolf that used it. The poison causes several of their teeth to fall out at a time having been rotted away at their roots in the process of secretion. As pups, the venom is not fully matured so it does not cause such great harm to them or the one they’ve bitten. Being fabulous swimmers, most of these beasts live on or close to a water source. It is unclear as to why they are so drawn to it. They are usually open to new ideas but only if it has something in it for them.

Skozec

Life span: 15 years
Strengths: Excellent hearing, can jump very high.
Disadvantages: Slow, unsteady strides, have difficulty retaining heat.
Magic Level: Normal
Height range: 3" - 4"7
Weight range: 80lbs - 160lbs
Litter Size: 2 - 6 puppies
Reproduction: Do not mate for life, can take multiple mates, usually pick a favorite of their litter and only care for that one.
Colors: Any, but typically they are darker colors. They also hardly ever have solid coats, usually having lighter undersides or some other markings.
Specific Characteristics: Large ears, sloped haunches, fluffy bob tail, sleek coat.

Description: The skozec have wonderfully large, upright ears. They protrude high above the canine's skulls, enabling them to have exceptional hearing. These scavengers have a sloped body, with large back limbs. They have a unique gait (a mix between crawling and hopping) and can jump very high. Skozec have sleek coats with very short hair, which means they are a victim to the cold. These creatures stick to their own, only grudgingly accepting outside help. They do like to be with others though, and tend to be lazier than other species. High jumpers, they can jump as high or as far as a length and a half of their body height.

Shikar

Specific Characteristics: Manes (optional), markings on both shoulders match the eye color

The Shikar are a very clever species,missing very little of the world around them. Their large bulk allows them to be deadly in a fight, but makes them slow and have a hard time turning around. The Markings on their shoulders, which match the color of their eyes, represent the season they were born in. Their fur, which also depends on the season for what will be more common, is always a dark. earthy color representing their connection with the earth.

Suco

Life span: 11 Years
Strengths: Strong mental aptitude
Disadvantages: Not very strong, repulsed by blood

Weight range: 100 lbs. – 150 lbs.
Litter Size: 1 - 4 puppies
Reproduction: N/A
Colors: Black, purple, gray, tan/beige
Specific Characteristics: Bat wings, saber teeth

Often shy and recluse, Suco wolves mostly keep to themselves though are often attached to their families, sometimes counting their pack or group as family if blood family is not present. Not great warriors though they make strong magi and clerics, seeming to posses a higher chance of obtaining magical powers than other species. They don't often see battle as they are considered squeamish as they are repulsed by blood and most do not like to hunt unless necessary.

Tama

Life span: 9 years
Strengths: Echolocation, strength
Disadvantages: Vulnerable usually until the age of 2 while skills develop, weak immune system
Magic Level: Normal
Height range: 5' - 6'
Weight range: 150 lbs. - 200 lbs.
Litter Size: 1 - 3 puppies
Reproduction: Being blind, most Tama spend quite a bit of time with physical contact, slowly building an "image" of their mate. This process if often repeated with pups as they are born, though it is said that Tama know what their pups look like without doing this.
Colors: White, purple, blue, gray, brown
Specific Characteristics: Eyes are always white due to being born blind, uses echolocation and touch to get around, often have elaborate markings, telepathic. May possess horns or antlers.

One of the first things that you may notice about this breed is that you will never actually hear their voice. Communicating exclusively through telepathic abilities, Tama wolves never speak beyond the soft cries of their pup hood before opening their eyes. While they are born blind, their is a misconception that they are also born without vocal chords. This is not the case, they simply choose not to speak out loud. It is considered one of the greatest honors to have a Tama speak out loud to you, even if it's for a short period of time. Quite often bold in nature, these wolves are "outspoken" in their own way and are usually not afraid to "voice" their opinions. Most are natural born leaders. A pecking order is usually established from a very young age within litters. Using a unique technique of mobility, these wolves have a specialized centre of the brain that allows them to utilize echolocation. Because of this, they rarely run into anything once these skills are developed. Due to various health problems and a weakened immune system, they do not live very long lives and are unusually vulnerable until the age of 2 until their skills develop. Susceptible to diseases and sometimes born with medical issues, they are physically strong in battle but sneezing on one could spell its end.

Verum

Life span: 10 years
Strengths: Highly sensitive senses
Disadvantages: Cannot lie, cheat, steal, murder, etc. Senses can be overwhelmed.
Magic Level: Normal
Height range: 4'5" - 5'3"
Weight range: 90 lbs. - 120 lbs.
Litter Size: 2 - 3 puppies
Reproduction: They will mate for life. If their mate dies, they will mourn for upwards of a year. The mother rejects pups born with a dark coat at birth.
Colors: Light, earthy colors like a beige or cream
Specific Characteristics: N/A

The Verum are a pure race and often sought after as spiritual leaders of the clans. They are physically incapable of deceiving or harming other wolves. To do so would cause excruciating headaches and other physical pain to themselves. All of their senses are highly sensitive, so it's incredibly difficult to sneak up on one of them. However, bright lights, loud noises and the like can easily overwhelm them. Their coats tend to be light in color, often thought to represent their pure intentions. If one is born with a darker colored coat, they are believed to be impure and destined for evil. As such, they are often rejected at birth by the mother.

Reproduction: Pups are always twins and are often complete opposites in personality.
Colors: Metallic colors, black, white. Seem to have a shine in the light.
Specific Characteristics: Females have small horns scattered from crown to tail along the spine. Males may have large ones on their head alone or larger ones along the spine. Some have scales on their joints the same color as their fur.

Sometimes aloof, some Hydra consider themselves to be royalty even if they don't hold the rank in a pack. Born of polar opposites of their twin, most are usually chaotic good or chaotic evil. Few are neutral and they do not spend much time with their twin though they are said to share a bond with them. It is said that they can feel when the other is in trouble or in pain and despite not getting along, will almost always come to their rescue if it is possible. Naturally lucky, most Hydra keep a stash of all the items they have found in their travels and are mostly partial to gemstones and metals.

Specific Characteristics: Large mane, tricksters

Lovers of stories, songs and tales, Shaka are often beautiful creatures but there's a bunch of cunning under those beautifully marked coats. Often tricksters and troublemakers, they enjoy to cause mayhem and sneak out to watch the goings on. While never really out to hurt anyone, their actions can sometimes lead to injury in others. Due to this they are sometimes shunned from different groups as individuals but never a species. Sometimes nomadic, they travel from group to group spreading their fantastic tales of gods, heroes and even their own lives in order to entertain others.

Vatara

Life span: 12 years
Strengths: Neutral minded and strong in battle
Disadvantages: Stubborn, can’t fly, high miscarriage/stillbirth rate (see reproduction)
Magic Level: Low
Height range: 4'5" - 5'8"
Weight range: 150 lbs. - 200 lbs.
Litter Size: 2 - 4 puppies
Reproduction: Due to its heavy size, it is very hard for wolves of the Vatara species to mate. In females, the birth canal is rather narrow and makes for difficult birth. Should this not be enough complication, the species suffers from a higher rate of miscarriage or stillbirth. This is thought to have been caused by the fabled crossbreeding with another, now extinct winged species.

Specific Characteristics: Eyes glow with extreme mood, winged

Neutral is the best way to describe a textbook Vatara. Usually not taking sides in disagreements, they see themselves as the middleman for others to solve their issues. It is uncommon for one to see a Vatara show extreme moods and they are known to have what has become known as "avian like reserve". Their eyes nearly never show what they are feeling. They are usually considered to be closed off and secretive. Sometimes possessing a one-track mind, Vatara can be stubborn and do not like change. They prefer to stick to traditions laid down by their forbearers. While considered strong in battle due to their weight, the wings they possess are merely for decoration. Sometimes small feathers can be found throughout their coats, though this is rare and is thought to be the remnants of cross breeding with an extinct avian-like species. Often brilliantly colored, males tend to carry more of these special pigments than the females. The females tend to be larger in size and stature and tend to be more dominant in nature than the males.

Nox

Reproduction: Normal but has a low pup rate.
Colors: Black or Orange.
Specific Characteristics: Colors must be orange or black and opposite of the coat color. Markings and eyes glow. Bat wings optional.

Typically dark in nature, wolves of the Nox species don't often get alone well with others that don't share their own views. Liking to pull ill natured "pranks" on others without caring for what might happen to their victim, most carry the motto of "the scarier the better". Sometimes being solitary in nature, it is also not uncommon to see small bands of wolves led by a Nox. Those who posses wing also posses the power of flight and rule the skies with webbed wings rather than feathered ones. It is easy to see a Nox coming in the night as their markings and eyes posses an eery glow of the same color.

Credo

Available From: December 23rd - January 3rd
Life span: 12 years
Strengths: High Magic, Spirited
Disadvantages: Lack strength
Magic Level: High
Height range: 2" - 6"
Weight range: 90lbs - 250lbs
Litter Size: 3 - 6 puppies
Reproduction: Can only breed in Winter (this means that all Credo are born in the spring)
Colors: Red, Green, White or any combination of the three.
Specific Characteristics: String of bells on the base of the tail - may extend up the tail as well. White fur collar or bell collar. May posses antlers. During the winter months, holly grows fro their coat. Most possess blue eyes.

While not possessing of large amounts of strength, this magical species makes up for it with bright spirit and a happy heart. Cheerful creatures at most times, Credo wolves often take others under their wing and raise pups as their own. Lovers of gifts and treasures, a wolf of this species many spend his entire life collecting beautiful things, only to give them away to another and start all over again with nothing but happiness in the heart that they made another happy. Highly reproductive, often having a large family of creatures related by blood and even those that aren't, the can only breed in the winter when the holly grows on their coats. While not always monogamous, they may seek the company of many in love and sometimes in lust.

Faerin
Available From: April 5th - April 10th (2012)
Life span: 13 years
Strengths: Speedy, mischievous
Disadvantages: backwards in evolution (just a bit), weak bone structure, small
Height range: 2'-4'
Weight range: 80-100
Litter Size: 2-6
Reproduction: Mate for life, instead of giving live birth, pups are born in eggs, once hatched pups are mostly self sufficient, almost never raised by parents, don't really need incubation past sunshine/layer of dirt.
Colors: Any color, often of multiple color markings (egg shells often correspond to pelt color/markings)
Specific Characteristics: large floppy ears, small size, bright markings/base coat, almost never seen in dark colors, bi-colored eyes, butterfly wings, bobbed tail, large fangs (males), Antenne (females)

Faerin are fragile creatures, not really known to fight. However be careful, Males are known to be a handful when angry. They are thought to be one of the most colorful of wolves and it's deemed a miracle and a blessing if an egg is found. Growing to a small stature, these wolves are also thought to be one of the fastest just behind Pards and get along well with the species. Equipped with superb hearing it is very hard to sneak up on these animals. It is well known that the largest shard of the egg that the Faerin hatched from is always on the Faerin's person, often hung by a strap of leather around their neck. Another spectacular feature of the Faerin are their wings. The butterfly wings can be small or large, but almost always come in bright colors that match the Faerin's coat, though this isn't always the case. It is said when a group come together this species' eyes glow in their respective colors, this is also said to be true during mating/egg laying. Some even say they that once bonded to a mate, they can always communicate with that mate through telepathy, but only if they are of the same species.

About LE Species: "Limited Edition" species are often Holiday themed, and some others only available though donating, super achievements, etc. They would have something particularly special about them be it magic, strength, special appearance etc. they are only available from the dates listed or by completed the action listed. They are be a free create (You don't need to have an open character slot) but you can only create 1 free and 1 character slot one.
