Summer had been a passing thought across these parts, and had come and gone all too quickly for it's Master in his teal coat. Presently, this master had risen before the rest of the world, and his pack, his cool silver eyes like beacons in the dimness. His breath left his body in cool white tendrils as he greeted the dawn with a stretching body. Eldarion's body was long and muscular though he looked shaggy as his winter coat began to come in, in preparation for the long, light-less season ahead.
His purpose today for rising so early was simple. There were many who would be crossing his lands to go to the continent of Kindra, and Eldarion had always kept and eye on them. It was only the night before that something had crossed his magical lines and raised an alarm within him, though the weather of the night was impassible and the Master knew whatever it was would not be going far. And so it was that he rose early while the sun still slept and the winds still raged over the landscape. He was rather used to these conditions, having lived in this realm for all of his life.
Walking from his den in the side of the mountain, the very den where his father was born and his mother before him, Eldarion nodded off his guardsmen and informed them of his plans for the morning. There was no need for them to accompany him for he would be back before mid day. Setting off, his pace was brisk and clean as if the new drifts of snow did not hinder him, and indeed they did not. It was only a short while before he reached the place where his alarm had been set off in Crystalhollow. Looking around, there were no signs of tracks, though he did not expect them in this storm, so instead, he lowered his black nose to the ground and began to track. | [atrb=width,140] words ,

The spotted wolf stretched to get the sleep out of her muscles. She had been traveling for several days now to meet up with the alphas of all the packs. It had been over a year since their last group meeting and she wanted to just check and be sure that all of their alliances still held strongly. So far, Caleo had reaffirmed the alliance and eased her mind, but Clax and Surmist had yet to be visited. Even the loners were quiet, not bothering her when she passed by them. Now she was in Ros territory, sniffing the ground to find out which way to go to find the alpha.
Finally catching his scent in a border marking, she officially crossed into his territory near Crystalhollow. Spying the bright blue male, she raised her long tail and held her head up and revealed herself with claws retracted. "Greetings. Eldarion right? I am Iqniq, the new Alpha of Eurus." She barked, then lowered her tail to show him that she respected the fact that this was his territory and he had power here, but kept her head held high. She knew she must look small, but didn't really care.

Surly enough, there was the scent trail of a herb of elk leaving these lands and it saddened his heart. If the prey was leaving so soon, it would mean an even tougher winter for his people. They were resilient, yes, but there is little that can be one with willpower to stave off a starving belly.
Eldarion sighed with his heavy thoughts and looked up from this scent trail when something peculiar caught his eye. Out of the gloom, for the sun had still not risen and the winds still carried the snows from the drifts, the teal male thought be could make out the form of something white, and not so elk shaped. His white tipped ears slowly slid back and his eye narrowed as the sound of a melodic voice reached those same ears and his heart skipped a beat. What he had thought to be an intruder (though intruding she was), had taken a turn to be the graceful leader of the Eurus clan of which his father had been so fond. His head was tilted to the side as he spoke. "You travel far, leader of the winged ones, though you have not told me your reason for being here, nor why I should welcome you into these parts, storm crow." |
[/i] he said easily, without a single hint of threat in his voice for there was meant to be none. He was merely inquisitive as to why a thing coat would make their way here in such weather if they did not bring news of trouble. [/div][/td] [td][atrb=width,140] words ,

She had been about to tell him why she came when he mentioned the fact that she hadn't addressed that yet. Waving her tail flicking a little bug off her ear, she thought for a moment how she had explained her intrusion to Ahliya. It only took a moment to remember. "I came because it has been so long since we last had a meeting of the Alphas and wanted to reaffirm alliances and set a date for the next meet" She barked.
A stiff breeze blew through, easily cutting through her coat and making her shiver. Most of the time, cold didn't bother her much. In fact, she enjoyed it, but the wind was horrible when it came to her short coat and thin body. "Would you mind if we found a more sheltered area to speak?" She asked, shielding what little she could with her long tail. Another small gust got her on her feet and she looked up at the sky. It was only fall, but the sky had gone almost white and she smelled water on the air. Freezing rain? Snow? She prayed that it wouldn't be the first of the two if the sky decided to open up.
Bouncing around, probably looking somewhat comical, she almost wished she had gone further south instead of trekking back north on her little journey, but knew it was better to get her sooner than later with winter on the way.
